Unit 6: Geometrical Concepts
Common Core Standards:
- Draw (freehand, with a ruler and protractor, and with technology) geometric shapes with given conditions. Focus on constructing triangles from three measures of angles or sides, noticing when the conditions determine a unique triangle, more than one triangle, or no triangle. 7.G.2
- Describe the two-dimensional figures that result from slicing three-dimensional figures, as in plane sections of right rectangular prisms and right rectangular pyramids. 7.G.3
- Use facts about supplementary, complementary, vertical, and adjacent angles in a multi-step problem to write and solve simple equations for an unknown angle in a figure. 7.G.5
2008 Math Standards:
- Recognize the relationship between central angles and intercepted arcs; identify arcs and chords of a circle. M07-S4C1-01
- Describe the relationship between the number of sides in a regular polygon and the sum of its interior angles. M07-S4C1-04
- Identify corresponding parts of congruent figures. M07-S4C1-05
- Model the result of a double transformation (translations or reflections) of a 2-dimensional figure on a coordinate plane using all four quadrants. M07-S4C2-01
